The maximum monthly SSI payment for 2026 is $994 for an individual and $1,491 for a couple. Your actual payment may be lower based on income, family members’ income, living situation, and other factors.

SSA says resources should not be more than $2,000 for individuals or $3,000 for couples. The 2026 cost-of-living adjustment is 2.8 percent.
